Together with community organisations and LGBTIQ+ activists, the union movement achieved something massive.
We won marriage equality for all Australians and showed the Turnbull government that the union movement will always fight for love, fairness and equality for every Australian.
But we're not done. There are many more battles ahead for our LGBTIQ+ comrades, and the union movement is going to fight hard alongside our LGBTIQ+ comrades to make sure no worker ever faces discrimination at work, however they identify.
But to do that, we need your help!
We know that many of the challenges the LGBTIQ+ community face are caused by the same problem that women workers face - a patriarchal system and sexism at large.
Join us for a special consultation session to help us determine what the challenges are for LGBTIQ+ people at work, how we can best consult with the community about them, and how we can work together to change them, and make sure all workplaces are free from discrimination.
There'll be pizza and soft drinks provided - all you need to bring are your ideas and enthusiasm!
Accessibility: Trades Hall is an old building but we will do all we can to make the event accessible for people with disabilities. Many of the rooms are wheelchair accessible. If given enough notice we will make adjustments as best we can for other access requirements.
