Join us in a conversation session with Pricilia Fonseca and Mae Paner to draw on some insights on gender inequality, misogyny and other women’s issues in the Phillipines and Timor Leste.
Mae Paner is one of the women behind the #BabaeAko (I am Woman) movement in the Philippines. She can share the experiences faced by Filipino women under the current Duterte regime. And on a more universal context, this is an opportune occasion to exchange views and learnings on how we can work together in our common fight against misogyny and its related evils.
Maria Pricilia Fonseca Xavier is a journalist and news broadcaster in Tétum and Portuguese at Timor-Leste Television (TVTL). She just won the Balibo Five-Roger East fellowship with MEAA this year for investigative journalism.
This conversation is organised by the Australians for Philippine Human Rights Network, Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA and We are Union Women and will be facilitated by Melba Marginson.
