Ever felt stressed or anxious at work? Ever been told by your boss to get a face mask or a bath and "she'll be right"?
That's just not on. As part of the 16 days of Activism against gender based violence, Feminism in the Pub is celebrating women and gender non conforming people fighting for us all to be physically and mentally safe at work. It's time to get the respect we deserve.
Either they work in male dominated industries, play collectively for better work conditions or organise sex workers in the city, join us as we host this fantastic line-up of speakers:
- Rhali Dobston, professional female soccer/football athlete, currently playing with Melbourne City in the Westfield W-League and occupational therapist
- Kathryn Breakwell, Women's advocate with the Rail Transport & Bus Union RTBU Vic, currently in entreprise bargaining negotiations
- Dylan O'Hara (they/them), member of the Vixen Collective committee, the recognized peer organization for Victorian sex workers
- Vasalia Govender, Health & Safety Representative with Heath and Community Services Union HACSU
- Panel co-facilitated by Feminism in the Pub activist Mia Adsett and Renata Musolino, OHS Information Worker at Victorian Trades Hall Council
They'll share their uplifting stories of fighting for safety and respect in their workplaces and what lessons they think we need to learn as we continue to build safe workplaces for all of us.
AUSLAN interpretation will be provided on the night.
