Close the super gap action

The Anna's are taking to the streets to highlight the superannuation gap experienced by women. We will be calling on the Federal Finance Minister, Mathias Corman to abolish the threshold!

We know that working woman face a gender pay gap, but this pay gap creates further inequalities for women and their super. Because our super is linked to paid work, women that are more likely to move in and out of paid work due to caring responsibilities become further disadvantaged. Women continue to earn less than men and are more likely to be in casual and part-time work, therefore not making it to the $450 threshold required to even receive super contribution. This is contributing to the gender pay gap in superannuation. It’s simply not good enough.

That's why next Thursday May 17 the Anna's will be holding an action at the Victorian State Library on Swanston St at 1:00 pm. We’re going to be performing the stunt to shed light on why the superannuation gap needs to be closed! We will be calling on the Federal Finance Minister, Mathias Corman to abolish the threshold! It’s going to be big. It's going to be loud. It's going to filmed on social media. But we need you there!

Come along in your purple shirts, bring along your workmates and friends, plus any signs you want to make and join us in the fun!

If you can't come but want to close the Super gap, sign the petition to call on the Federal Minister of Finance Mathias Corman

In Solidarity,

The Anna's, union women concerned about older women retiring in poverty
